Fidan is involved in strategy development, project management, advocacy and day-to-day contact with grantees in Azerbaijan.
Before joining NRGI in 2013, Fidan held several positions at the Open Society Foundations predecessor organization, the Open Society Institute, in Azerbaijan. Beginning in 2006, these included national budget group coordinator, program director for transparency of oil revenues, public finance program director, and deputy director. In those roles, she interacted with NRGI on several projects involving revenue transparency. Prior to joining the civil society sector, Fidan worked at a private bank as an internal auditor.
Fidan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and credit from State Economic University. She speaks English, Russian and Turkish.
