Based in Jakarta, Fikri is a focal point on external communications, support outreach and capacity building activities.
Fikri previously served as a member of the expert staff for the Commission XI, a multiparty committee at Indonesian House of Representatives that supervises the preparation and deliberation of policy reform relative to finance, national development planning, banking and non-bank financial institutions. He also oversaw the publication, media and client relations as research analyst for Polinergy, a research and consulting group specializing on energy and mining governance. Prior to his work in the development field, he was a journalist for Jakarta Post, where he reported on the political beat in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the attorney general’s office, the National Police Headquarters and the House of Representatives.
Fikri holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and a M.Sc. in emerging economies and international development from King's College London. His research interests include poverty alleviation, income inequality and inclusive development.
