Jim oversees the Resource Governance Index and his team is responsible for the development of data tools, research and analysis to support NRGI’s work.
Jim served as lead and founding staff member of the Natural Resource Charter, prior to its merger with the Revenue Watch Institute. Before joining NRGI, he was based at the University of Oxford. There, he completed his doctorate and remains a research fellow of the Oxford Centre for the Analysis of Resource Rich Economies (OxCarre). Jim’s research investigates the interactions between natural resource investment, governance and economic performance in resource-rich developing countries. He has been published in various books and journals, including Energy Economics.
Jim holds a D.Phil. and a M.S. in economics from the University of Oxford and a M.A. in economics from the University of Cambridge.
