Phopho has many years of experience managing large, complex multi-use development projects and programs, with expertise in empowering civil society organizations (CSOs) and forging partnerships with private companies and community organizations.
Before joining NRGI, he was a sub-regional project officer for the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Funds (CEPF) on behalf of BirdLife International, based in Liberia. He has worked with CSOs in Guinea, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone to build their capacities to influence national-level decision making for the sustainable management of natural resources.
Phopho is also a community fellow of Global Economic and Environment Opportunity (GEEO-USA). He holds a postgraduate diploma in international cooperation from Université Libre du Burkina Faso/CRYSPAD and a master’s degree in the history of international relations from Université Général Lansana Conté de Sonfonia-Conakry in Guinea.
