Josephine works mainly in research and policy analysis with a focus on state-owned enterprise reforms and the relationship between natural resource governance, revenue sharing and the peace process.
Prior to joining NRGI, she worked in the peacebuilding sector in Myanmar, focusing on conflict sensitivity and social cohesion. She was a visiting researcher at the Environmental Peacebuilding Initiative and has also worked at the economic department of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok.
Josephine holds a master’s degree in peace and conflict studies from Uppsala University, where she specialized in the nexus between climate change, natural resources, peace and conflict. She obtained her bachelor’s degree at Leiden University College The Hague.
