Prior to joining NRGI, Sarah worked for ActionAid International in Uganda as a national tax justice advisor where she offered technical support for tax policy advocacy and a global tax justice campaign. She possesses extensive experience and expertise, particularly in policy advocacy and on issues related to progressive taxation. She has worked in several African countries, as well as at the regional level.
In the past, she worked for Tax Justice Network Africa, as a policy and advocacy manager for Africa and regional advocate for the Financial Transparency Coalition, where she was based in Kenya, her home country. Before that, Sarah did policy and advocacy work for The CRADLE - the Children Foundation and served as a legal expert to the Ministry of Justice in South Sudan. She also has some private sector experience, having worked with PwC in the past. She holds a M.A. in public policy from the University of Nottingham as a Chevening Scholar, a diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law, and a LL.B. degree from the University of Nairobi. Sarah considers herself a social justice entrepreneur.
