NRGI at COP27: Transition Minerals, Just Transition Energy Partnerships and More
NRGI, ICMM and the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will host an event at the COP27 climate conference in Egypt where speakers will explore the governance deficit for transition minerals critical for green technologies. At a separate Blue Zone event, NRGI and WRI will discuss the viability and feasibility of just energy transition partnerships (JETPs) for African countries. More broadly at COP, NRGI will highlight the needs and priorities of resource-rich developing countries in the context of a just energy transition, with special emphasis on African countries reliant on oil, gas and mining. Framework for Countries Evaluating Gas-to-Power Pathways
Betting big on natural gas comes with risks and tradeoffs, especially as the world moves away from fossil fuels; some countries could become locked into dirty, outdated and high-priced domestic energy systems. This first module in a five-part toolkit for government officials, researchers, activists, campaigners and journalists focuses on implications for gas producers of the energy transition and climate change.

The Global Registry of Fossil Fuels Public Release

Nigeria's National Dialogue on Energy Transition
On 6 October, NRGI, in collaboration with the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and BudgIT, will host a national dialogue to stimulate discourse on the energy transition.
Executive Course on Oil, Gas and Mining Governance
NRGI and the Blavatnik School of Government's executive resource governance course took place at the University of Oxford earlier this month. Forty-four government officials, civil society actors and company executives from 21 countries joined the five-day training to learn more about how to manage and govern their countries' extractive resources amid the energy transition.
