Mohamed Cisse

Guinea Program Associate

Mohamed supports NRGI’s civil society program in Guinea and monitors the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) process with relevant stakeholders. He has previously consulted for NRGI, monitoring the drafting of implementing texts of Guinea’s mining code by the Ministry of Mines and Geology, supporting NRGI’s activities with civil society (including journalists), and undertaking data gathering and analysis for the Resource Governance Index interim assessment in 2019.

Before joining NRGI, Mohamed worked for Natural Justice as legal officer for the “extractive industries and infrastructure” program where he supported research, legal empowerment, data collection and analysis, and advocacy. Mohamed also worked for the NGO Action Mines Guinée as legal and environmental manager. In this role, he supported the planning and execution of various projects related to mining resources governance.

Mohamed graduated from King Mohamed VI University in Conakry with a master's degree in mining law.
