Women and Mining in Mongolia: Participation, Inclusion and Leadership

While Mongolia’s mining sector plays a significant role in the country’s economy, accounting for 40 percent of its gross domestic product, women are under-represented in the sector’s workforce. To increase women’s participation in the sector, a gender policy for the mining sector was introduced in 2019. This video explores the implementation of the policy, and highlights some of the women who have been instrumental in advancing gender equality in Mongolia.
