Max previously worked as an investigative reporter and focused on corporate strategy in the mining, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. He also reported on utilities.
He has covered U.S.-Mexico border violence with the PBS NewsHour; visual art in Mexico City; and policing and immigration with The Chicago Reporter. He was also part of the Medill Innocence Project and investigated possible cases of wrongful conviction.
Max earned a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University. He also studied visual art. He speaks English and Spanish.
