Responsible Exits and Closures: Global Lessons for Local Action
5 August 2025 • 7:30AM COT Bogota, Colombia
As the energy transition accelerates, responsible exits from extractive activities have become a pressing priority. This event, held in Colombia, brings together Colombian and international experts to share lessons and experiences from mine closure and transition processes around the world.
Through dialogue tables and expert reflections, we’ll explore what makes exits truly responsible, focusing on governance, territorial planning, legal frameworks, alternative livelihoods and the social and human rights dimensions of closure.
The goal: to connect global lessons with local action and help shape just, inclusive, and sustainable transitions in Colombia and across Latin America.
