Format: Hybrid (in-person, with all plenary sessions online)

NRGI, in collaboration with the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and the BudgIt Foundation, hosted a national dialogue which will bring together government officials, representatives from civil society organizations and other experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition in Nigeria. Dialogue participants also discussed the recently launched National Energy Transition Plan. 

The national dialogue aimed to feed into the country's energy transition plan and implementation process to ensure that it is inclusive, equitable, ambitious, and responsive to the realities and context of the Nigerian people.

Session 2: The role of gas in Nigeria’s Energy Transition (moderated by Brown Ogbeifun, AfriTAL)
Session 3: Funding and financing the transition to scale up clean and reliable energy (moderated by Osten Olorunsola, energy transition adviser, NEITI)
Session 4: Diversifying Nigeria’s Economy for Sustainable Development (moderated by Gabriel Okeowo, CEO, BudgIT Foundation) 
 

3 – 4 p.m.: Feedback and closing plenary
