Part of the NRGI’s Mexico team, Talia conducts research and policy analysis on gas, renewables and transition minerals. She contributes to facilitating discussions among diverse stakeholders to advocate for a just transition.

Prior to NRGI, Talia was a consultant on climate change, energy transition and sustainable finance in different energy sector projects in Mexico. She led a civil society campaign advocating for a just energy transition in Mexico, fostering diverse networks and alliances, and facilitating consultations with relevant stakeholders. She also contributed to a project identifying energy transition opportunities in Mexico’s energy state-owned enterprises. She has collaborated with the Inter-American Development Bank and REN21, conducting analyses on global energy market trends and monitoring innovative policies, regulations, tax incentives, energy subsidies, and public financing. She has also consulted for state governments, developing energy sector plans and public policy proposals for sustainable energy. In the financial sector, Talia has consulted on sustainable infrastructure issues, climate risks and sustainability standards. As a researcher, she has participated in projects related to energy transition policies in Mexico, analysis of legislative, political, and regulatory frameworks related to energy transition, and climate change and renewable energies.

Talia holds a Ph.D. in environment and politics from the University of York, U.K., and a master’s degree in international studies from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
