Prior to joining NRGI, Amir was a managing associate in the energy & infrastructure team at Linklaters. He worked in Linklaters' offices in London, New York and Dubai and represented clients on energy and infrastructure projects in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Amir's pro bono experience includes assisting the International Senior Lawyers Project in advising the Liberian government on a port concession.
Amir leads NRGI’s portfolio of research and policy analysis, technical assistance, capacity development and advocacy related to legal and economic issues. Amir works closely with his team to continue to support the work of NRGI regional and country teams, and to promote new innovations in the team’s programmatic offer and areas of expertise, while contributing to the strategic direction of NRGI more broadly.
Amir has a J.D. and a B.A. in history, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied international relations at Sciences Po. Amir is fluent in English, French and Farsi and has aspirations of speaking Arabic.
