Juliana Peña Niño

Latin America Senior Officer

Juliana is based in Bogota and works on issues related to economic linkages, sustainable recovery, energy transition and social and environmental conflicts, both in Colombia and regionally, as part of NRGI's work in Latin America. 
 
Prior to joining NRGI, she worked for Fundación Foro Nacional por Colombia coordinating several projects related to extractive and environmental governance, territorial pacts for regional development, citizen participation, human rights, and peace building. She also has experience as a researcher on social and economic issues in Colombia and Latin America, including working for research centers at Universidad de Los Andes and Universidad Nacional de Colombia. 
 
Juliana holds an M.Sc. in social policy and development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a postgraduate diploma in social economics from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Colombia).
